Entertainment in the streets of Bogota

Last Friday my father and me decided to have fun taking plenty of pictures in downtown Bogotá, we had tremendous time photographing so many different people in all kinds of situations in many different places.

People playing music at the street, people dancing at the street, people hugging or simply walking in many different scenarios. At first we thought that people would get angry because we were taking pictures of them, but we were wrong because nobody got mad at us by the picture taking; the people were nice and even smiled at us. It was very funny to see the way of life of the people in the streets, there was an old woman who had a “house” if we can call it like that, it was all made with garbage and different things she found and collected, when she noticed that my father was taking pictures to her! Oohh se got so mad with us and she was going to throw a very big stone to my father, she could kill him, but didn’t cause we went out of there running. One of the most touching scenes was an old man covered with a plastic, sitting on the floor, having lunch in a jar, surrounded by lots of pigeons that he was sharing lunch with them.

To conclude, going to a mall or a cinema are not the only ways of entertain here in Bogota´, you can find better ways to have fun all around the city and to meet the Colombian people and their peculiar style, I had a lot of fun and I’m sure you can also have fun.

Engativa's location

One of the most interesting and beautiful locations in Bogota, is Engativa, in this location you can find all kind of commerce, services, education programs, health programs and a high concentration of the Bogota's population. It's location is in the map near to "Usaquen" location, "Fontibón" & "Kennedy".

Now the question is, Why all these projects have been succesfully applied?, thats easy, you can see in the official web page, http://www.engativa.gov.co/index.php how everything is well managed. I went with my dad because he works on the "Hospital De Engativá", so he wanted to show me the place were he worked, it is a nice place and very clean, they are good restaurants and it is well located, there is a very good library called "las ferias" and it has very useful information. It has some malls that are awesome such as: "Centro Comercial Diverplaza" and "Portal de La 80" where you can find anything that you want.

As a conclusion, Engativa's Location is full of interesting things to do and you should visit it to go to the malls and watch at this clear and beautiful ground, Don't forget to go and visit its hospital maybe you could find my dad and also you would see how big it is and all the things it have.

Teatro libre

My father and I were going to the see The Atlantic Big band, a jazz swing band of musicians from Barranquilla, Most of them very young ones. This Colombian big band has nothing to envy to the big American jazz bands, It really was a tremendous show.

The concert was supposed to start at 7:30pm but It was delay until 8:30; meanwhile we enjoyed a very theatrical scene in the street. At the entrance of the theater there was a band playing jazz in front of an antique black car from about 1960 and on top of the car there was a girl dressed up according to the period of time, it was a very funny and different show that we enjoyed a lot when we were entering to the theatre. The Teatro Libre is a kind of old theatre, but is one of the best scenarios to listen to a concert. We finally entered to the theatre and the concert was one of the best shows to be seen in Colombia, the band had about twenty to twenty-five musicians, who played a tremendous kind of Jazz and Swing which I like a lot. The show ended about ten o’clock and everybody in the theatre was very happy as I was. When we went out of the theatre it was too cold and rainy outside.

To conclude I recommend you to visit the Teatro libre shows, the lightning, the sound, and the scenario is very appropriate for music concerts and many other shows, every year this theater is the main indoor place for the jazz festival which I also recommend you to visit if you like Jazz.

Usaquen

Bogota is divided into locations. One of my sections, is locations, so I visited one of the most well known locations in Bogota, Usaquen. I went with my family and friends. It is almost Christmas, so I thought that Usaquen should be already decorated. I have visited earlier this location, and the decoration is always amazing. I was hoping to see something really nice. Actually Usaquen is near my house, so transport was not a big deal this time. I know this area, because my mom's hairdresser local, is in Usaquen. Also because of the really amazing restaurants, I enjoy visiting this location, because it is really funny, and there is also a different thing to do.

When I arrived to Usaquen, with all my hopes, I felt happy and released, because as always it was beautiful! Christmas is the best time of the year, and I like to go and visit parks, that are decorated, that's why I left this section for this time. The park was full of lights, and everything was so shiny and beautiful. I went to have dinner, and I visited Archie's, which happens to be also one of my favorite restaurants. Before going to Archie's, I take pictures of the lightings, and also I went on shopping. I was amazed because, I also found really cute stores, where I could find beautiful stuff. This locations, is full of entertainment. I found out, beauty salons, cinemas, hundreds of restaurants, churches, malls, parks, among others. 

I really enjoyed this visit. I hope I could go in another moment. I am really excited for Christmas time, and for vacation. I extremely recommend you to visit this location, and have a good time with friends and family. Just remember to take a camera with you, because if don't, you would regret not taking pictures, of all the beautiful places you will find out. Now I understand why Usaquen is one of the most well known locations in Bogota. It is because it is amazing, you are not going to get bored in this place. It is not a modern place, with all the last technologies, but it keeps an antique decoration. Of course, even though it is not the last technology decoration, it keeps an unique style. I honestly LOVED IT! 

Neighborhoods

La Calleja: Do you know which neighborhood is between the north avenue the 19th avenue the 134 street and the 127 street? I will tell you my experience visiting and living in this place.

The neighborhood La Calleja is between the north avenue the 19th avenue, the 134 street and the 127 street. I lived in this neighborhood for around 10 years then I moved to Cota. This is a mainly residential neighborhood with many tall buildings, 15 years before this was part of the zone were living was “in”, but now is to full of people and the buildings are kind old (15-20 year old). I liked a lot visiting again this place, feeling the traffic jams of the 127 street, the north avenue and the 19th avenue. This is a very good place to live because there are many residential building, and it is in the "center" of the places I have to move the most in Bogota (Unicentro, San Rafael, 19^th Avenue, North Avenue, etc).

I recommend you this place because it is very good to live, because as I had said before it’s in the center of the part we use of Bogota. I liked a lot to visit again my old neighborhood and remembering things.

Santa Ana:

Do you know which neighborhood is between Circunvalar Avenue 9th avenue, 100 street and 106 street? I will tell you my experience going thought this neighborhood.

That Thursday I had an appointment with a teeth doctor, I went from the school with my mom. After many traffic jams I passed thought the mall Santa Ana and thought the train station of Usaquen. I passed thought these places took some photos and videos and realized that this was the neighborhood of Santa Ana. There were many tall buildings and offices. I asked my parents and they told me that this is a very “in” place to live and expensive one. Before it was very quiet full of big houses, but now it has a mall and they have destroyed some houses to build hotels. But with all this, this is a very good place to live.

This is a good place to live because you can be quiet enough (not appearing to be in a city) and rest a lot, with all those new buildings and hotels this sector will cost a lot more so it can be a good place to invest.



 San Jose de Bavaria: Do you know which neighborhood is between the Boyacá’s avenue, the Conejera, the 170 street and the 190 street? In this article I will tell you some things about this neighborhood.

That neighborhood is called San Jose de Bavaria, this neighborhood was built by Bavaria (somebody told me that a owner of Bavaria was very generous and made this) to let their workers live in this neighborhood. Then this neighborhood changed from a normal worker's neighborhood to a rich neighborhood. Nowadays is very common to see "mansions" with a very big garden in this neighborhood, this very big houses are usually in groups of 10 to 20. The majority of the cars you see in these houses are Ferrari’s, antique cars, black window big cars. Nowadays it is a very calm place but with the new library near, the mall Santafe and the expansion of Boyaca’s avenue I think this place will become as crowed as nowadays is Unicentro sector.

This is a good place to live because it is not to near but not too far from the north avenue, that make san José de Bavaria a real calm place where you can leave very comfortable in a really big and beautiful house.
