Virgilio Barco Library

I visited a public library today called, Virgilio Barco. Have you ever heard about it? Have you visit it? Well, I can tell you, that it a beautiful place to visit. It is full of flowers and plants. It has also all the information that you want. I visit it with my father. We didn't want to face with Bogota's traffic, so we use transmilenio. It was so much faster, and easier. We went in transmilenio from my nearest station "Pepe Sierra" to a station called "Simon Bolivar". We were still far, so we took a taxi, from the transmilenio station to the library. When we arrived I took some nice pictures of the view from that place. I discovered that it was such a nice and well structured place.

When we were on the inside of the library, I was amazed. It was a really nice place, the floor, the walls, even the windows were beautiful. I visited each one of the rooms, there was a room for kids, a virtual room, and a general room. The one I liked the most was the virtual room, because it was a modern room. It had computers, and a lot of video-books. In this room you can choose any book you want, and they put it on so that you can read it in a virtual way.  When I visit it, there was many people with headphones, listening and watching their books. After that, we visited the ceiling, we came up stairs, and walked through the roof. Actually, the roof, was made for people to walk through it, in such way you can watch the whole city, I took many pictures. I found out it is a place where you can relax, and have fun. I think the architect was so intelligent, because this library is wonderfully made.

 I didn't even know that in Bogota we had a library like this one. I wish I can visit it again. I recommend you to visit it, and look for a book you would want to read or watch, and just relax. It is a quiet place, were you can concentrate. I had a nice experience, and I get to know more about this wonderful city, Bogota.

Nem-Catacoa Festl/Event

I have to confess the sunday 10/10/10 have been the funniest day in my short life! I can't believe I was there, I'm still amazed. And I took hundreds of photos and videos. I really enjoyed it a lot. There where fantastic performances!

Green day was something incredible, they played for 2:30 hours, and they played all their songs also Iron Man from black sabath, and some of Ac/dc. Also Don tetto and the Mills had an excellent performance for me, but I'll start from the beggining.

I arrived at "El Club Del Polo" in Cajica at 10:10 a.m and when I arrived (I did it on car) I had privilage to enter when I arrived because the other people had to make a very long row. But when I enter, there was another row like of 2,000 people or more, but luckly I had some friends that were there so they let me pass, the parking spot was 2 kilometers far from the row so it was very dissgusting, and another problem that I realized during all the fest was that everything was full of poop and liquid soil.

I was in that row of the entrance up to the 1:30!, but afortunately I took there a pizza and 2 lt of Gatored so I had to wait 3 hours and 20 minutes until they opened the entrance, I had a Green day T-shirt and also the concert programation so I run fast to the secondary teather to hear the mills, so I had an excellent ubication, the mills performance was excellent.

Then when the mills finished, I listened to V for volume, which I think It also had a good concert.

Then I ran fast to another stage to listen to MET and then The Hall Effect.

But, I couldn't listen to MET because my friends didn't like them, so I just listened to The Hall Effect, and they were also fantastic.

Then I Went to the principal stage where green day and Don Tetto was going to presentand there I had to Wait almost 2 hours for Don Tetto and 1 hour then for Green Day, there where lots of people as you can see,

Then Don Tetto began, I liked a lot its performance also it was full of energy.

Cinema in Portoalegre

Cinema in Portoalegre

Have you ever gone to a small cinema here in a mall in Bogota? In this article I will tell you my experience going to one.

It was Sunday 9 of October, that day it was the note feedback, I went with my parents, fortunately for me, I got good grades so my parents let me go out with some friends. I left the school with the parents of my friend, and then we arrived at her house (116 under the highway). There we look in internet for the movie we would see; we decided to see "Love at Distance". We arrived at the mall Portoalegre (138 under the highway) at 3:30 there we bought the tickets and take a walk through the mall, in this walk I bought some “manillas”. At 4:10 the movie started we bought pop corn, cheddar cheese, and cokes. We entered to the movie, the cinema was small, the movie started. This movie wasn't excellent it was just good, but it was funny and we had a pretty time.


Are you bored one afternoon or weekend? Don’t be silly go to Portoalegre cinema, to have a good time with your friends and family? And also buy some manillas!

Jorge Eliecer Gaitan Theater

Jazz al parque festival is a great opportunity for having fun, but just if you like jazz.

I went to the opening of this great cultural event, it was on Jorge Eliecer Gaitan Theatre, My father took me to The Museo Nacional where I was doing my part in the topic I choose for the blog, but as I also have to do the topic of theatres and my father loves's jazz so he bought 2 tickets for the opening of Jazz al parque. So I was in the sector of San Diego, and I had already finished doing my work on the Muso Nacional, the Jazz concert was at 6:00 pm, so we walk to the Jorge Eliecer Gaitan theatre and we went to queue, and the queue was too long! So we bought some food while we were waiting, a young man gave us a bracelet when we gave him the ticket. Finally we entered to the theatre, it was just remodeled, It's  a very beautiful place to visit I recommend it to you.

Quickly, we sat on very good places, we could see the whole stage, so the Festival finally started with the words of one important man in the organization of the festival, Then a Jazz quintet appeared on stage they where the backstage crew, I liked very much the music they played it was not the common jazz but a modern Jazz using strange sounds but in my opinion it was all a very good composition, The musicians where all very young and I liked very much the way in which the saxophonist played his instrument.

 Then The Bogota's big band of  Jazz appeared on stage, it was the principal event of the night, In the band there where more than 30 musicians and the best compositors of Jazz in the country, most of them do not live here in Colombia but they came for this important event, one of them is Antonio Arnedo, he live in the city of New York, he is a compositor and one of the best Colombian Saxophonists, It was not the first time we saw him on stage, we had  already saw him last year when he also came here to the Colombia for the Jazz al parque festival of 2009. The Big band was great I really like jazz and love the way they make their music, it all ended at 10 pm, after the concert we bought the cd of the Bogota big Band and the one of the quintet that presented on the beginning on the concert. When we went out it was very cold! But I enjoyed a lot, and I totally recomend you to visit Jorge Eliecer Gaitan Theater, a great place where you can see a lot of cultural events, it is very big and a great sound and architecture.

                                                                                                          

Restaurants 1

For example: Crepes & Waffles has an excellent attention! Delicious food and Icecreams, but I have to admit that it is very expensive and always full.

Something curious about this restaurant is that all the employes are woman for example, but that has a history you can ask there.

Another example: El corral’s food is delicious, but it’s too expensive, but you feel very comfortable and clean eating there.

As a conclution, to find a good restaurant you must identify how much money can you spend and then a near ubication, type of food and other important details. You should try it, it is very important to learn how to choose a restaurant, it seems easy but it isn’t.

Cinemas 2

I also went to the cinema in Iserra 100, it is located in 100th street and suba's avenue. A very good thing here is that it is almost everytime almost empty, so it is awesome being there, It is not so big, but awesome!

There is something that is also special about this cinema, and is called service or attention from the workers to the customers and if you need some special service or thing, it is provided in here with a very good attention.

It has 2 floors, and some restaurants within, what I did, was to plan something, I went to Iserra 100 at 10:00 A.M I did some shopping and more or less at 1:00 P.M I went to a restaurant meanwhile the movie was ready so wen it began (at 3) I saw the movie an I really liked because I could sit wherever I wanted, So it was a good experience.
